This coming weekend will be a crucial time in our current bargaining.

Although the parties did meet this past weekend, very little progress was made. Further, despite our hope that the employer would attend mediation with William Kaplan on Sept. 15, they failed to show up. Nonetheless, both teams have agreed to be in Toronto on Sunday, Sept. 24 for mediation with Mr. Kaplan. Mr. Kaplan has also recently informed us that he is available on Monday, Sept. 25 and both sides have agreed to that date as well.

However, given the lack of significant progress in negotiations, the LUFA Executive has decided that should an agreement not be reached by midnight on September 27, LUFA will be on legal strike as of Thursday, September 28, at 12:01 am. Please watch for a message from the Executive on Monday.
