Help Avert a Strike at UOIT

(Oshawa – February 21, 2019)

The Faculty Association at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) is seeking your urgent help in their efforts to avert a strike.

Since October, UOITFA has been working hard to negotiate a fair deal to improve working and learning conditions by bringing them in line with those offered at other universities in Ontario. Yet, the administration has been stalling and not addressing any of the faculty association’s major concerns. Faculty members at UOIT have not had an improvement to their pension and benefits since the University first opened even though UOIT has run surpluses since 2011 that total $84 million.

Today is the last day of mediation and the strike deadline is set for February 23rd at midnight.

We are asking you to act to help avert a strike. You can help by visiting http://www.uoitfa.ca/take-action/ to send a letter to UOIT President and Board of Governors urging them to negotiate a fair agreement.

Thank you for your support.
